Happy Victoria Day!

It was a bit damp in Victoria today, but it didn't seem to put too many people off coming to watch the many participants in the this long running parade...

This fellow (I'm making some assumptions here) makes his home at Beacon Hill Park in Victoria. I had been driving by the park quite often over the course of a couple of weeks and always saw him standing in the same spot, just by the edge of one of the lakes. I finally made a point of going back to capture a photo of him. It was amazing to be able to get so up close and personal with him.

It was pointed out to me that I have been remiss in keeping my content fresh and for that I must apologize. Life can get away from us at times, and I'm trying to still enjoy the little things... unfortunately the time I put in to my photography tends to suffer...

A Year of Benjamin

So Christmas has come and gone, and my favorite gift to give, are those keepsake items that will hopefully last. This year I chose to make a calendar of my nephew Benjamin. I must say he was a real trooper through the shoot, which took approximately 8 hours over 2 days to complete.

I Love the Country

Recently went to visit my grandparents up in Honeymoon Bay, and was amazed to see the number of blue jays that came for a meal. Within about 5 minutes of the seed going out, there were approximately 15 jays in the trees, on the lawn, and claiming the offerings in the feeder. Love it!

Old but not forgotten...

This is the remains of an old car that had been abandoned in the woods near the property where I grew up. I had a return trip to the property this summer and sought this car out, remembering how it used to be. For some reason, I was having some trouble with the color profiles and it's not appearing in the web browser quite right, but I thought I would share just the same.
